PHOTOS: The Lowest Moment, Kwahu oooo Kwahu 2017!

Easter celebration in Kwahu in the Eastern Region of Ghana has emerged the top most location embracing people from all walks of life on a worthwhile experience.

The soaring businesses, jubilations and wide range of entertainment; paragliding, street carnivals with free goodies etc cannot be over emphasised. Many have spoken against the fashion sense and the increasing level of promiscuity associated with arguably the biggest social gathering for the season.

FEATURED VIDEO

On the early nights of Friday 14th April, 2017, a stroll from Atibie took me to a vibrant location in Mpraeso and it was a promotion of a locally manufactured alcoholic beverage (name withheld) which saw a great audience turn out, some competing for gadgets LED TV, Home Theatre, Fridge and assorted drinks through dance and rap.
Intermittently, sachets of the 42% alcoholic beverage was thrown into the standing audience which most longed to have a taste, maybe as a warmer for the rest of the night activities. My lowest moment arose when I encountered two females of age 8, same event but different locations comfortably sipping or done same 42% high spirit drinks. For a moment it remained a dream till I realise I had pictures to it.

My worry
• Who could have introduced these innocent souls to such a harmful drug?

• Does the season give right to indiscipline even at that age?
• Does the Easter festivities null the parents responsibility of taking charge of their wards?

• Are the security personnel mandated to take charge of these short falls at their watch?

• Does the country Ghana have a future with this?

….. are among the many questions I’ve asked myself but the answers are not forth coming. Nontheless, parents should be vigilant, society should inspire positively on the next generation of leaders and public institution must take charge of their mandate.
