New Music: GH Drill links Ypee for ‘Oye Wo Taste’

GH Drill, Ypee - Oye Wo Taste
GH Drill, Ypee – Oye Wo Taste

Ghana’s favorite Drill overlord can’t and won’t stop saturating fans’ eardrums, linking fellow rapper, Ypee for his latest tune ‘Oye Wo Taste’.

The new drop is another fun song from the London-based Drill artist, flush with the right atmosphere and content to get anybody hooked. His command once the hi-hats drop is plain brazy and made complete in guest rapper, Ypee’s dope verse. That aside, ‘Oye Wo Taste’ goes well beyond the addictive and converging styles of the two trailblazers. It presents lyrics which aim to paint your type of girl in often smutty puns delivered in a manner that simply slaps.

“Summer is here and my team and I had to get ‘Oye Wo Taste’ out to fans ASAP”, GH Drill shared. “So, I reached out to Ypee. I was like ‘Yo bro, we need to get the mood going back home charle’, even if the weather said otherwise and he came through big. Shoutouts to him. Go stream ‘Oye Wo Taste’ my Ghanaian drillers, it’s for you!”.

The new song is produced by Kuby and fits in as GH Drill’s second song to hit the airwaves following April’s ‘Dibi’ – his previous and first release of the year.

    Nana AJ – Cool Down

Rapper Nana A.J returns with his latest single ‘Cool Down’ this summer.

Since releasing ‘Round and Round’ back in January of this year, the Berlin-based Ghanaian rapper had been busy plotting and today – 5 months on, the cat is finally out of the bag. ‘Cool Down’ is that new drop from the Pedal Records star and though not the booming Summer ‘22 party monster many may have been expecting, it is nonetheless a welcomed cut in Nana A.J’s evolution.

‘Cool Down’ is a conscious attempt from Nana A.J to remind fans of how pretentious people can be: “No one be family, every bro just be fake so you for dey gee/Swear down. I tell you say you for cool down, cool down” and has him unfold bits of his personal experiences over the song’s soothing production, while leaning on light lyricism and storytelling to better establish his perspective on the matter.

“There’s more to people than meets the eye and that’s what ‘Cool Down’ is about. It’s a cautious reminder to not get too trusting of people or buy into their false show”, Nana A.J explained. “It has been on the books for a while now and the team felt this was the best time to get the message out, so I’m hoping the fans love it like I do”.

With 6 months still to go in 2022, ‘Cool Down’ is definitely not the last fans will hear from Nana A.J and his camp. Stay tuned!

  • Listen: Niashun out with new super single ‘Daama’

Listen: Niashun out with new super single ‘Daama’

    Niashun – Daama

The ‘OK’ singer has kicked off the week with his second solo single ‘Daama’.

‘Daama’ is the big new entry from the fast-rising star following the success of his previous song ‘OK’ and it has our attention. Niashun’s style is outright compelling – a standout of the Demag-produced song which we’re confident will quickly occupy the heads of many upon their first play.

Translating to “nothing”, ‘Daama’ or “m3ni daama” (I have nothing) – as it is mostly expressed when flat broke – is a song for the people. There is no over-analysis from Niashun. He sings in very relatable terms, exploring how the situation continues to wreck his confidence and happiness as a young man before turning to God: “Tutu m’anamon yi ma me 3hn, buebue kwan bi ma me 3hn?/Paapa sesa me hy3br3, afei de3 m’ay3 wild ooh”.

“With how things are going ‘Daama’ came at the right time”, Niashun shared. “It captures a state I feel many are in, especially the youth. But like I said in my previous release everything will be ‘OK’. Things will get better, hopefully”.

Between his official debut – ‘OK’ (2022) – and now, Niashun has gone on to become an impressive act with a style that has so far won him big successes and recently an approval from one of radio’s finest voices in Ghana, Andy Dosty. He has us excited and we’re keen on experiencing the brunt of his potential.

Music doesn’t get more celestial than Amanda Ofori’s new song ‘Abba’. Stream or download ‘Abba’ across all major digital platforms here: https://fanlink.to/ABBA-AO

Following a breakthrough past few months for the London-based Ghanaian gospel singer, Amanda took to the high notes to sing out praises to the Lord in her angelic voice expressing the importance of God in all aspects of her life. It’s almost transcendental how the music is delivered – the genuineness in her words is unmissable. She believes the song will serve as a beacon of hope to anybody who listens.

‘’I am excited to announce the release of my new single. I received the song in a dream a few years back, ‘Abba’ means; God as a Father and this was a song reminding me of who my Heavenly Father is to me and who He has been to me in various seasons of my life. I am so grateful to Paa Kyerematen who helped with production and arrangement of the song’’, Amanda commenting on her inspiration for the song.

Amanda Ofori is a vibrant worshiper who has been passionate about gospel music from a very young age. Being brought up in a Christian household, from the age of 2, Amanda was inspired by her grandmother and mother who worshipped every morning with gospel music. Her morning rides to school with her mum were filled with worship songs from Don Moen and Michael Smith which shaped her love for worship music. Amanda began pursuing her passion at a tender age. By age 8, she was already writing songs and putting together impressive melodies inspired by the Heavens.

Having sang in church choirs and with music that is inspired by her rich cultural heritage; Amanda says she draws further inspiration from some mercurial names in the game including Tasha Cobbs, Kierra Sheard, Chris Tomlin, Joe Mettle, Benjamin Dube and Fred Hammond.

The singer who has been backing vocalist for Hanson Asiedu in the past is ready to serve the world with more sweet sounds this year and we can’t wait to hear it all.
