New Album: Amerado Embraces Highlife Roots on “Defy All Odds” EP
Ghanaian rapper and singer Amerado has taken a refreshing step into highlife with his new EP Defy All Odds, a five-track collection that fuses traditional Ghanaian rhythms with modern storytelling. Known for his lyrical range, Amerado explores new territory while keeping his sound authentically Ghanaian.
The project opens with “It Takes Two”, a heartfelt reflection on love’s mutual effort. It continues with “Omama”, which tackles the envy that often accompanies success. The fan-favorite “Obi Adi” sits at the center of the project, grounding the EP’s message of love, lessons, and life’s transitions.
The final songs “Cocoa Butter” and “Them Talk”, deliver smooth highlife melodies and messages of confidence and perseverance. Speaking about the project, Amerado shared, “This EP is personal to me. I wanted to show that no matter the odds, we can evolve, grow, and still stay true to our roots. Highlife is a part of who I am.”
Defy All Odds has composition credits to IzJoe Beatz, ItzCJ MadeIt, and Shawerz Ebiem. It celebrates Ghana’s highlife tradition while showing how modern artistry can honor its roots and still create something new.
