Ghanaian rapper Medikal has confidently declared himself the rightful Artiste of the Year for 2025 following the release of nominations for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
The comment was made during a live performance in Kumawu on Saturday, where he addressed fans on stage. Referring to the awards, Medikal said he believes his output over the past year positions him strongly for the top prize.
His remarks drew a positive response from the audience, with fans expressing support during the performance.
Medikal is among the most nominated artistes this year, with over eight nominations across major categories. These include Music Video of the Year, Rap Performance of the Year, Hiplife/Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, and Artiste of the Year.
The awards scheme, organised by Charterhouse and powered by Telecel Ghana, recognises achievements across the Ghanaian music industry.
With nominations spanning multiple categories, Medikal remains one of several artistes in contention as anticipation builds towards the awards night.
